It was a good run, but The Farrell Steelers unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. Their tough 44-18 defeat to Cathedral Prep might stick with them for a while.
Several Steelers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Juelz Johnson, who rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown. Danny Odem iii was another key contributor, picking up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Cathedral Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Costello, who threw for 146 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Suhtaun Lewis, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Farrell's loss dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Cathedral Prep, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Farrell will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Wilmington on November 11th. Wilmington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Farrell is ranked 65th). Cathedral Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
