The D.H. Conley Vikings will square off against the Perquimans Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Perquimans will be up against a hot D.H. Conley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. D.H. Conley's pitchers stepped up to hand Havelock a 13-0 shutout last Thursday. The game marked the Vikings' most dominant victory of the season so far.
James Robinson looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Davis Bradley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Stewart, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Perquimans got the win against North East Carolina Prep on Wednesday by a conclusive 16-3. Considering the Pirates have won six contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Maddux Thach made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Thach was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing Three bases. while going 4-for-4. Perquimans is undefeated when Thach posts two or more runs, but 1-2 otherwise.
In other batting news, Jacob Askew and Sean Saunders did most of the damage at the plate: Askew went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Saunders scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. That home run was Askew's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Coley Drew, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Perquimans always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North East Carolina Prep only posted an OBP of .360.
D.H. Conley pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Perquimans, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
