After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pentucket Regional, Haverhill was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Lowell Red Raiders as they made off with an 11-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Hillies, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Ava Moscaritolo (2027) and Cayla Irwin (2025) made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Moscaritolo (2027) tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Irwin (2025) tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. At the plate, Moscaritolo (2027) got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Irwin (2025) got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was Irwin (2025)'s first of the season.
In other batting news, Emma Proia (2027) was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Gianna Pistone (2027), who went 3-for-4 with four RBI.
