The Lamar Tigers had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Buffalo 70-48. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lamar also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Braden Mcgregor and Blair Abraham certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Mcgregor scored 17 points, while Abraham dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Abraham continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Skinner, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Lamar's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0. As for Buffalo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Lamar won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Liberal at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Buffalo, they will head out on the road to face off against Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lebanon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
