The Middle Park Panthers's game on Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 43-23 margin over Basalt.
Middle Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubree Hanson, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Blaire Hester, who scored six points along with three steals.
The victory got Middle Park back to even at 3-3. As for Basalt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Middle Park and Eagle Valley will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Eagle Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday. Basalt will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Soroco at 1:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Soroco is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
