Despite the defeat, Loomis saw an underclassman step up: Ben Trompke scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cale Nelson, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Loomis' loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Axtell, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
