Softball Recap: Male Beats Blazer for Their Third Straight Victory

Male had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Blazer Tomcats with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 11 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Hannah Wright looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Lily Jones was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Aubrey Miller also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Male always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Male's record now sits at 15-4. As for Blazer, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Male will be playing in front of their home fans against Livingston Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Cardinals have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Blazer, they will venture away from home to take on Ballard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tomcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
