The Timothy Christian Trojans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.
Timothy Christian got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They blew past Aurora Christian 63-41 on Tuesday. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.

Timothy Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sienna Azzinaro, who went 9 of 18 on her way to 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Elisabeth Van Den Berg, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Those four steals gave Azzinaro a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Annika Lemkuil, who posted eight points and three steals.
Timothy Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Marian Central Catholic strolled past Rosary with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 59-43. Given the Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Royals are ranked 536th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Timothy Christian better keep an eye on Juliette Huff. She was instrumental in Marian Central Catholic's win, going 8 for 15 en route to 24 points. Huff's afternoon made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Adriana Wrzos was another key player, going 8 of 18 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Marian Central Catholic and bumps their season record up to 10-11. As for Timothy Christian, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Timothy Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Marian Central Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Timothy Christian was dealt a bruising 65-24 loss at the hands of Marian Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Huff, who went 12 for 18 en route to 28 points and eight steals. Now that Timothy Christian knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
