The Southern Columbia Area Tigers will face off against the Cowanesque Valley Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Columbia Area will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
If Southern Columbia Area beats Cowanesque Valley with 61 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Tigers breezed past Shikellamy to the tune of 61-28 on Friday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Southern Columbia Area got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brayden Andrews out in front who rushed for 164 yards and two scores on only ten carries, and also picked up 36 receiving yards. Those 164 rushing yards gave Andrews a new career-high. Joey Williams was in the mix as well, providing Southern Columbia Area with two touchdowns.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southern Columbia Area was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 442 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in 21 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 19 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Caius Morrow, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from Andrews.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Cowanesque Valley was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They lost to Montgomery on the road by a 21-6 margin. The Indians' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Even if they lost, Cowanesque Valley's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Montgomery's QB won't forget Kegan Lane anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Red Raiders' side was Luke Sottolano, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Southern Columbia Area's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Cowanesque Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Southern Columbia Area has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 290.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cowanesque Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 215.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
