Basketball Recap: Christ the Cornerstone Academy Piles Up the Points Against Emmanuel Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christ the Cornerstone Academy). They took their game on Monday with ease, bagging a 56-10 victory over the Emmanuel Christian Crusaders. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Christ the Cornerstone Academy had a senior duo take command as Bryce Haywood went 8 of 9 en route to 18 points along with five assists and five boards and Will Jackson went 10 of 13 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Haywood has scored all season. Bradley Hogan was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Christ the Cornerstone Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Emmanuel Christian, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Christ the Cornerstone Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mintz Christian Academy at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Mintz Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Christ the Cornerstone Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Emmanuel Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent on January 10, 2025.
