After four games on the road, Jackson Day is heading back home. They will take on the Lee Park Prep Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
After soaring to 59 points the game before, Jackson Day were a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They took a 29-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty Preparatory Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Jackson Day has scored all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lee Park Prep's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They fell 51-43 to Jackson Day.
Despite their defeat, Lee Park Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Viviana Nigro, who scored 18 points along with six steals and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Nigro has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. Destiny Thomas was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks.
Jackson Day's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-6. As for Lee Park Prep, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5.
Jackson Day was able to grind out a solid victory over the Knights in their previous meeting last Friday, winning 51-43. Will Jackson Day repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
