The Holbrook Roadrunners's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Payson out 44-42. The victory was just what Holbrook needed coming off of a 59-28 loss in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Holbrook to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noheah Aberle, who scored 11 points along with four steals. Aberle has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelle Yazzie, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals.
Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lizzy White, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. White is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Hannah Sarnowski was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Holbrook's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Payson, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holbrook will take on Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Winslow is ranked 137th, while Holbrook is ranked 118th). As for Payson, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. Blue Ridge is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
