The Legend Titans waltzed into their contest Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Chatfield and snuck past 62-59. Given Legend's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Chatfield is ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Legend's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Carcasson, who scored 14 points. Carcasson also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Gavin Whitehead was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Chatfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Drew Rohlman. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points. The match was Rohlman's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Teff, who scored nine points.
Legend's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Chatfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Legend will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Chatfield will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Green Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Green Mountain has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 373 points over their last six contests.
