Fletcher is 8-2 against Atlantic Coast since September of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fletcher Senators will be playing in front of their home fans against the Atlantic Coast Stingrays at 6:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Fletcher's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Atlantic Coast has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Fletcher missed an extra point against First Coast on Thursday and it came back to haunt them. Fletcher and First Coast were almost perfectly matched up, but Fletcher suffered an agonizing 28-27 defeat.
The losing side was boosted by Marcelis Tate, who rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 236 yards and a touchdown. Trevor Bryan also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Fletcher's defense still kept up the pressure with six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Travis Lan and Owen (joker) manuel who racked up 4.5 sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Coast fell victim to Creekside's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a tough 26-0 defeat at the hands of the Knights. Atlantic Coast was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Fletcher's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Atlantic Coast, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Fletcher against Atlantic Coast when the teams last played back in November of 2022 as the team secured a 30-0 win. Will Fletcher repeat their success, or does Atlantic Coast have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
