Scranton Prep will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Abington Heights extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Comets were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Valley View. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Nick Bradley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Thomas LaCoe and Conner Abel did most of the damage at the plate: LaCoe went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Abel got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave LaCoe a new career-high. Tate Pentasuglio was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Scranton Prep didn't have quite enough to beat North Pocono on Monday and fell 9-7. That's two games in a row now that the Cavaliers have lost by exactly two runs.
Ben Toczydlowski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Reece Vida also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Abington Heights' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Scranton Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything went Abington Heights' way against Scranton Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Abington Heights made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
