South Central (Union Mills, Ind.) jumped out to an early lead against
North Newton (Morocco, Ind.) and never looked back on the way to a 37-16 victory on Saturday.
The Satellites scored 16 points in the first quarter. South Central scored on a rushing touchdown, a two-point conversion, a touchdown run and a two-point conversion.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, SC led 30-8 at the half.
Chad Schultz made a difference for the Spartans. He ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 12 on the year.
The Union Mills school had given up an average of 15.3 points prior to the contest. The 16 points that North Newton ended with were below its average of 20.3 coming into the game.
The Satellites got revenge for last year's 20-13 loss to NN with the victory.
South Central (5-2) goes up against Calumet in a Greater South Shore game matchup next week, while North Newton (3-4) locks horns with Edison also in a Greater South Shore game.
