Even though the Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers have not done well against the Cedar Crest Falcons recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lampeter-Strasburg put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 65-40 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Lampeter-Strasburg had established a 23 point advantage.
Lampeter-Strasburg was led to victory by Dean Herr and Chase Smucker. Herr scored 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds, while Smucker scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Smucker hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasin Abdi, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Lampeter-Strasburg is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Cedar Crest, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.
Lampeter-Strasburg will head out on the road to square off against the Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cedar Crest, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Blue Streaks at 7:30 p.m. Manheim Township will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 389th, while the Falcons are ranked 114th).
