Rochelle has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Brookesmith Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rochelle and Brookesmith are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
Last Friday, Rochelle had to suffer through a rough 69-22 loss at the hands of Richland Springs. Rochelle has struggled against Richland Springs recently, as their game on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Brookesmith put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lohn 86-22 at home. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Brookesmith had established a 54 point advantage.
Trey Toft continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jase Moreno, who scored 17 points.
Rochelle's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Brookesmith, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.
Rochelle came up short against Brookesmith in their previous meeting back in January, falling 46-37. Can Rochelle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
