The Salamanca Warriors and the Waverly Wolverines squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Salamanca Warriors had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Wolverines 42-0. Salamanca's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Leading Waverly to victory were Kolsen Keathley and Joey Tomasso. Keathley gained 144 total yards and three touchdowns, while Tomasso threw for 311 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.
Salamanca's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Waverly, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Salamanca does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Waverly will face off against Fonda-Fultonville at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fonda-Fultonville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
