Baseball Recap: Fishers Wins Going Away Against New Castle

Fishers's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the New Castle Trojans 12-2. That looming 12-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Fishers got a massive performance out of Zander Carnahan, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Carnahan has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Huston Dunn, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fishers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Castle only managed three hits.

Fishers pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for New Castle, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fishers will venture away from home to take on Yorktown at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Castle, they will head out to square off against Shelbyville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
