Desert Pines won the last time they faced Canyon Springs and things went their way on Friday too. The Jaguars breezed past the Pioneers to the tune of 48-21. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won three matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.

Jerome Sequeira continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 322 yards and six TDs, while also rushing for 61 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. Those six passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Marcus Williams also helped with three scores in total.

Desert Pines didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaisun Gill and DeMichael Burks. Another thorn in Canyon Springs' side was Peyton Yandall, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).

The victory snapped Desert Pines' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record. As for Canyon Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Desert Pines will face off against Green Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 975 yards in their previous games. Canyon Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
