Softball Recap: Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Wins Going Away Against San Diego Academy

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter got themselves on the board against San Diego Academy on Thursday, but San Diego Academy never followed suit. They blew past the Cavaliers 16-0. The win continues a trend for the Cobras in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now won five in a row.

Monserrat Rodriguez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, Chula Vista Learning Community Charter got a massive performance out of Bibi Delgadillo, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Delgadillo's first of the season. Giuliana Ramos was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for San Diego Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
