Triplains/Brewster is 10-0 against Golden Plains since January of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Triplains/Brewster Titans will be staying on the road to face off against the Golden Plains Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Triplains/Brewster focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Triplains/Brewster got the win against Heartland Christian by a conclusive 52-26. The win was just what Triplains/Brewster needed coming off of a 83-41 loss in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Triplains/Brewster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Peterson, who scored 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Peterson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nick Zerr, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Golden Plains' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 67-35 loss at the hands of Logan/Palco. Golden Plains has struggled against Logan/Palco recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite their loss, Golden Plains saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Owen Patmon, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Rath, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Triplains/Brewster's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Golden Plains, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Triplains/Brewster have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27.8 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Golden Plains, though, as they've been averaging only 29.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Triplains/Brewster beat Golden Plains 57-46 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Golden Plains' Dylan Wark, who scored 22 points along with eight steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Triplains/Brewster still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
