The Garrett Railroaders will venture away from home to challenge the Leo Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Garrett is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.3 points per game this season.
Garrett took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-44 win over Prairie Heights.

It was another big night for Sarah DePew, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 boards. Garrett is 3-1 when DePew posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. Emma Coffman was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six steals and five boards.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Leo and Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, and Leo kept the tradition alive. The Lions were the clear victors by a 53-30 margin over the Cadets on Monday.
Leo's win came from a few key players Garrett will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mackenzie Collins, who posted 11 points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leah Shappell, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.
Leo pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Garrett, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Garrett has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Leo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Garrett suffered a grim 57-37 defeat to Leo in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Shappell, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Now that the Railroaders know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
