The Palm Desert Aztecs waltzed into their matchup Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 78-64 victory over Carter. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Palm Desert got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Brande out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Brande set a new season high mark in blocks with five. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Christensen , who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Palm Desert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Carter, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Palm Desert and Yucaipa will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Yucaipa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Carter will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Rim of the World at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
