Marquette Catholic hadn't done well against Tri-Township recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Marquette Catholic Blazers put the hurt on the Tri-Township Tigers with a sharp 48-27 victory. The Blazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Laniah Davis was her usual excellent self, going 8 for 16 en route to 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The game was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Natalie Robinson was another key player, putting up five points and six boards.

Marquette Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in eight consecutive contests.

When it comes to explaining why Tri-Township lost, don't look at Jayde Pryor. Despite the final result, she went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 44.4% of Tri-Township's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Marquette Catholic pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.7 points per game. As for Tri-Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-10.

Marquette Catholic will be playing at home against Culver Academies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Culver Academies will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Marquette Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tri-Township, they will head out to face off against South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
