Start is 0-6 against Perrysburg since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will challenge the Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. Start is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Start was able to grind out a solid win over Lima Senior, taking the game 6-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Start.

Bryce Creecy was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Start: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4-1 otherwise. Brandon Scott was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Start was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lima Senior only posted a batting average of .130.
Meanwhile, Perrysburg entered their tilt with Findlay on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They had just enough and edged out the Trojans 3-1.
Perrysburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Palmer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Perrysburg pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Start, their record now sits at 10-4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Start has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Perrysburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Start suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Perrysburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
