Woodson is 2-7 against the Trainers since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Woodson Warriors will be playing at home against the McKinley Tech Trainers at 5:30 p.m. Woodson is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Woodson faced the Crimson Tide in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Woodson took a serious blow against the Crimson Tide, falling 76-22. Woodson has not had much luck with the Crimson Tide recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, McKinley Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Roughriders on Friday, but they still walked away with a 35-30 victory.
McKinley Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jemima Bomoyi out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Bomoyi also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Kamille Fisher, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Woodson's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.4 points per game. As for McKinley Tech, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Woodson was dealt a bruising 63-35 loss at the hands of the Trainers in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Woodson was down 40-17.
