While Pleasant Grove's win against Lehi wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings skirted past the Pioneers 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won three in a row.
Keslie Draney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Maile Larsen, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Norman, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Spanish Fork came up short against Cedar Valley on Thursday and fell 8-4. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lia Higginson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Paisley Ross was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Spanish Fork's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pleasant Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .462. It's a different story for Spanish Fork, though, as they've only averaged .229. Will they be able to contain Pleasant Grove's hitters?
Pleasant Grove might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Spanish Fork in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
