Griffin is 1-0 against Howard since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Griffin Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Howard Huskies at 7:30 p.m. Griffin is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Griffin came up short against Westside and fell 29-16.
Although Griffin took the loss, they still got scores from Khameron Mcdowell and Delreon Cleveland.
Meanwhile, Howard pushed their score all the way to 34 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 42-34 to Spalding. While losing is never fun, Howard can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Spalding is ranked 41st).
Despite the loss, Howard got a solid performance out of Camareon (cam) taylor, who threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
Griffin has been struggling this season, as they've lost seven of their first eight games, which leaves them at a 1-7 record this season. As for Howard, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Griffin strolled past Howard in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 35-16. The rematch might be a little tougher for Griffin since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
