After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Seton Catholic, the Willcox Cowboys were happy to have found some success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 53-30 margin over Dishchii'bikoh. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Willcox also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2015.
Lane Whetten continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Willcox's points. Alan Solis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Willcox's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Dishchii'bikoh, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willcox's road trip will continue as they head out to face Benson at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Benson is ranked 256th, while Willcox is ranked 274th). As for Dishchii'bikoh, they will head out on the road to face off against Joseph City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Joseph City will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
