The Palmer Trinity Falcons will face off against the North Broward Prep Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Palmer Trinity sitting on five straight victories and North Broward Prep on eight.
Palmer Trinity proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 20) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Pine Crest 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since February 28th.

Michael Miraglia was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Pedro Castillo tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits.
Back at the plate, Tommy Barcinas Jr. was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Matthew Echevarria was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, North Broward Prep never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past Ransom Everglades 12-0. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
North Broward Prep also got a great performance from Jack Rostock as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Rostock a new career-high.
On the hitting side, North Broward Prep let Alex Smith and Adrian Rodriguez run wild. Smith scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Rodriguez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Those three runs gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julian Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
North Broward Prep hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ransom Everglades struck out nine times.
North Broward Prep pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Palmer Trinity, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Palmer Trinity has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Broward Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Palmer Trinity might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from North Broward Prep in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
