The Space Coast Vipers won the last time they faced the Cocoa Beach Minutemen, and things went their way on Thursday too. Space Coast came out on top against Cocoa Beach by a score of 62-49.
Space Coast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Layla Mangum led the charge by scoring 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mangum has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Taylor Hill, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Cocoa Beach still got an impressive performance from AJ Overdorf, who scored 16 points. Baylea Holland was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Space Coast's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Cocoa Beach, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Satellite the next time they take the court. Cocoa Beach will head out to face Satellite at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Space Coast will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
