Basketball Recap: Coco Carnahan Key Part of a Team Effort in Lions Win

There's no place like home for St. Andrew, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They put the hurt on the New Hampstead Phoenix with a sharp 35-13 victory on Wednesday. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Andrew's to victory, but perhaps none more so than Coco Carnahan, who posted two points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Carnahan a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Scarlett Holmes, who had seven points and five rebounds.

With the win, St. Andrew's broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for New Hampstead, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

St. Andrew's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 35-20 loss against Pinewood Christian on the 10th. As for New Hampstead, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-17 defeat against Wayne County on the 10th.
