The Lemon Bay Manta Rays have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lemon Bay to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cooper Benedict, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mayson Roberts, who scored six points.
Despite the loss, LaBelle had strong showings from Levi Phillips, who scored 14 points, and Clifford Love, who scored 12 points.
Lemon Bay's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for LaBelle, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Lemon Bay won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hardee at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hardee is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for LaBelle, they will be playing at home against Aubrey Rogers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aubrey Rogers is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
