Mills is 1-8 against Sequoia since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Mills Vikings will be playing at home against the Sequoia Ravens at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Mills lost to Westmoor on the road by a decisive 63-46 margin. Mills has not had much luck with Westmoor recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite their loss, Mills saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Ngo, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ngo has scored all season. Jefriel Bacorro was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Sequoia fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Burlingame on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 74-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mills bumped their record down to 4-13 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road. As for Sequoia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Mills came up short against Sequoia when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 53-44. Can Mills avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
