The Winnetonka Griffins will head out on the road to face off against the Pleasant Hill Roosters/Chicks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Belton scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Winnetonka still came out on top. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Winnetonka made off with a 62-61 victory over Belton. Given Winnetonka's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Belton is ranked 465th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Pleasant Hill, as they earned their first road win of the season. They enjoyed a cozy 62-47 win over Clinton on Tuesday. That looming 62-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Pleasant Hill yet this season.
The win makes it two in a row for Winnetonka and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Pleasant Hill, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Winnetonka took their victory against Pleasant Hill when the teams last played back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 73-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Winnetonka since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
