Mission Trail recap November 5, 2013
King City moved up to 695 from 736 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Mission Trail. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of beating Stevenson 27-13.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Pacific Grove beat Gonzales 49-8. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Breakers.
Jason Leach was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 95 yards on 6 carries as Pacific Grove bested Greenfield. Teammate Forest Compton added to the ground attack by rushing for 71 yards.
Leading Mission Trail in both passing and receiving yards, the Padres' Connor Marden and Kehoe have proven to be a lethal combination. Marden has thrown for 1,730 yards this season, while Kehoe has 33 catches for 666 yards. Chris Morgan's team's Leach leads the league in rushing yards with 985.
The Breakers' Leach needs only 15 yards against King City next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 109 carries Leach has accumulated 985 yard this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Mac Villanueva's team takes on Pacific Grove. The Mustangs are in third place, while the Breakers are in first place.
