The Franklin Academy Patriots won the last time they faced the East Wake Academy Eagles, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Franklin Academy strolled past East Wake Academy with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Franklin Academy.
Micah Rutledge was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sam Artz, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Franklin Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for East Wake Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will take on Research Triangle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Research Triangle is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for East Wake Academy, they will be playing at home against NCSSM: Durham at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
