The Picayune Maroon Tide will head out on the road to take on the Long Beach Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Picayune is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Picayune took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Hancock by a score of 4-1.

Brunson Stockstill was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Long Beach and West Harrison meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Hurricanes with a sharp 13-3 win. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Bearcats this season.
Walker Cooke was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Cooke was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wayne Ulrich, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Aiden Downey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Long Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Long Beach is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Picayune, their record now sits at 19-6.
Long Beach's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Picayune hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .352. It's a different story for Long Beach, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Picayune's hitters?
Picayune skirted past Long Beach 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Maroon Tide repeat their success, or do the Bearcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
