Newman Came Up Big in Sevier County's 49-0 Victory
Sevier County picked up their eighth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Cooper Newman. Newman did his part (and then some), throwing for 240 yards and five touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes, and also rushing for 30 yards for the 'W'. Those 30 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.
Newman and Sevier County will take on East Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Smoky Bears got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Hurricanes, probably because Newman had a solid game then too: he threw for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
