1A North Central recap October 29, 2013
Yuma extended the longest winning streak in 1A North Central this week by beating Las Animas, 55-7. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Indians.
Wray was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. The Eagles defeated Holyoke 38-37 earlier in the week.
Wray's dynamic duo of Zach Spencer and Jonas Cure proved tough for the Dragons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Spencer threw for 340 yards and 4 touchdowns and Cure had 209 yards receiving. Orlando Lefever helped Wray's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 66 yards.
Jacob Baca was a force in the backfield as Cornerstone Christian Academy topped Wiggins.
He was 21-50 with 0 interceptions.
Joe Snyder made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Bulldogs beat the Tigers. The 5-foot-10 senior grabbed 2 sacks.
Cornerstone Christian Academy's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nathaniel Ruble has thrown for 1,104 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Nick Lubin has 30 catches for 525 yards.
Yuma took down the Trojans 55-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Brit Unger ran for 177 yards in the win.
