Freddie Lawton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Lawton was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That hit was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Whale Branch got a massive performance out of De'Mone Odom, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
