It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Reagan Rattlers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by East Central at home to the tune of 55-21. The victory was just business as usual for Reagan, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Reagan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brad Jackson led the charge by throwing for 266 yards and five touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Jeter Battles was another key contributor, picking up 148 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Austin Vivier and Isaiah Mackey certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Vivier rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, while Mackey threw for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Vivier's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Reagan has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.0 points per game. As for East Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Reagan will take on Westlake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Westlake is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. East Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
