The Cass City Red Hawks put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 51-44 victory over Kingston. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Cass City has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Kingston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Owen Corlis . Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with eight rebounds. The matchup was Corlis 's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Austin Deroseau, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.
Cass City's victory was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Kingston, they have fallen quite a ways from their 18-6 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Cass City and Unionville-Sebewaing will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Unionville-Sebewaing will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 656th, while Cass City is ranked 27th). Kingston will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bendle at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Bendle knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Kingston likes a good challenge.
