Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Emarion Nichols and Eric Coleman Lead Newnan to Victory

There's no place like home for Newnan, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 70-45 margin over the Creekside Seminoles on Saturday. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Cougars just coasted through the last quarter.

Newnan was led to victory by Eric Coleman and Emarion Nichols. Coleman dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 boards, while Nichols posted 17 points. That's the most points Coleman has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Buchanan, who earned six points.

Newnan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Several Seminoles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was AJ McKissic, who scored seven points. Will Rogers was another key player, putting up two points and five rebounds.

Newnan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Creekside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-15.

Newnan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-51 victory against Morrow on the 25th. As for Creekside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 86-45 defeat against Midtown on the 24th.
