The South Johnston Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Hunt Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
South Johnston suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were outmatched by C.B. Aycock at home and fell 75-48. South Johnston has not had much luck with C.B. Aycock recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when your three-point shooting is a whole 42% better than the opposition, a fact Hunt proved on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-52 victory over Southern Wayne. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hunt.
Hunt found their leader in underclassman Austin Joyner, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Pittman, who scored 12 points.
South Johnston's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Hunt, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
South Johnston came up short against Hunt in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 56-47. Can South Johnston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
