Valley Vista is 3-0 against Maricopa since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Valley Vista Monsoon will head out on the road to challenge the Maricopa Rams at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Valley Vista was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-55 to Shadow Ridge.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nate Cosio, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Currington, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Maricopa's nine-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Alhambra 71-41 on the road. Maricopa's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Valley Vista has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Maricopa, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-16.
Valley Vista strolled past Maricopa when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 60-45. Will Valley Vista repeat their success, or does Maricopa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
