The Macon County Tigers 's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Portland by a score of 37-35. Macon County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Portland apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Friday.
Macon County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Laityn Kirby, who scored 13 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Katie Jo shockley, who scored ten points along with three steals.
It was another big night for Taya Totten, who scored 21 points for Portland. Totten is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemiyah Kelsey, who scored five points.
Macon County's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-10. As for Portland, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-16.
Macon County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Portland also has no future games currently scheduled.
