The Stafford/Somers/East Windsor Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 35-0 loss at the hands of Rockville. While losing is never fun, Stafford/Somers/East Windsor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Rockville is ranked 31st).
Evan Poulin threw for 60 yards while completing 75% of his passes. Logan Wolf was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards.
Amir Knighton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 160 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Knighton really tore up the turf during one magnificent 75-yard run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Ramsdell, who threw for 195 yards and a touchdown while completing 73.3% of his passes.
Stafford/Somers/East Windsor's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Rockville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stafford/Somers/East Windsor will square off against CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering] at 11:00 a.m. on November 18th. Rockville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby at 6:00 p.m. on November 17th. Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
